Presidential Welcome
Aloha and Greetings. My name is Charles Clement Bell III. I have
been a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated for
over 37 years.
I am honored by my Brothers of Mu Beta Lambda to serve as
their Chapter President. I pray that my energy, passion,
enthusiasm and traditional Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.,
beliefs and values will cohesively meld with our modern-day
fraternal ideologies and practices.
My Vision for Mu Beta Lambda Chapter
I envision Mu Beta Lambda Chapter increasing our relationships
with the various cultural communities of Oahu. Utilizing the
talents of the Brothers in our chapter, we intend to reach out and
share the richness of our African American Culture. Our goal is to
emphasize, educate and invigorate.
Black History Month (February), which celebrates African
American history and achievements: Juneteenth (June 19th),
which marks the end of slavery in the U.S.: and Kwanzaa
(December 26-January1), a weeklong celebration of Black
heritage and community. As Men of Alpha, we annually recognize
and honor our past Brother and great Civil Rights leader, Dr.
Martin Luther King Jr. (third Monday in January) through a day
of festivities, and community service events. These are
significant African American Holidays that, we look to share and
bring greater awareness to, communities of Oahu and the State of
Hawaii.
Mahalo,
Charles Clement Bell III
President, Mu Beta Lambda Chapter
